This will be updated periodically so a very recent version of AFNI is available. Convert3D will be added at some point.
To use the AFNI GUI in Windows 10, first get necessary software and set things up:
(1) Install Ubuntu as WSL and upgrade to WSL2 (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wsl/install-win10), this was tested on Ubuntu 18.04, (2) Set up Docker with WSL2 (https://docs.docker.com/docker-for-windows/wsl/), be sure to link Ubuntu in Settings/Resources/WSL Integration, and (3) Install Xming (https://sourceforge.net/projects/xming/).
Then:
(1) Have Xming and Docker running and (2) Pull up Ubuntu terminal and update .bashrc with the following commands (copy-paste these into terminal, thanks to https://hub.docker.com/u/adamkimbler):
export DISPLAY="`grep nameserver /etc/resolv.conf | sed 's/nameserver //'`:0"; user=$(whoami); docker run -it -v /tmp/.X11-unix:/tmp/.X11-unix -e DISPLAY=$DISPLAY -e NOATBRIDGE=1 -h $HOSTNAME -v $HOME/.Xauthority:/home/${user}/.Xauthority nmuncy/afni_ub20 bash
***** NOTICE - nameserver changes with each new start of Xming, so the code below is still being worked out *****
echo export DISPLAY="`grep nameserver /etc/resolv.conf | sed 's/nameserver //'`:0" >> ~/.bashrc
echo user=$(whoami) >> ~/.bashrc
echo alias afni_run=\'docker run -it -v /tmp/.X11-unix:/tmp/.X11-unix -e DISPLAY=$DISPLAY -e NOATBRIDGE=1 -h $HOSTNAME -v $HOME/.Xauthority:/home/${user}/.Xauthority nmuncy/afni_ub20 bash\' >> ~/.bashrc
source ~/.bashrc
(3) enter the container by typing "afni_run" into the terminal, and then type "afni" to start the GUI.
