This image packages Panabit TANG R7P8 into a containerized runtime environment, primarily designed to run the Panabit gateway/management system within Docker.
Automatically prepares the following directories and files on startup:
| Directory | Purpose |
|---|---|
/usr/panabit | Main Panabit runtime directory |
/usr/panaetc | Configuration directory |
/usr/panalog | Log directory |
Automatically detects and configures the following network interface roles:
| Interface | Role |
|---|---|
| Management | Web UI, health checks, and container management traffic |
| WAN | External network / NAT egress |
| LAN | Internal network gateway |
healthcheck command| Path | Purpose |
|---|---|
/usr/panaetc | Panabit configuration directory |
/usr/panalog | Panabit log directory |
/var/log/panabit | Container log directory |
The image is compatible with common operational workflows:
sh or bash for manual inspectionThe Panabit data plane within this image depends on host kernel capabilities.
If the host kernel is incompatible with the kernel modules bundled with Panabit, the Web management interface and configuration features may still be available, but full data plane forwarding functionality may not work correctly.
If the following warning appears on container startup:
[panabit-entrypoint] WARN: 1G hugepages requested but kernel returned 0 free pages; falling back to 2M
It is recommended to enable 1G HugePages on the host kernel boot parameters to achieve optimal data plane forwarding performance.
Append the following to GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX in /etc/default/grub (replace N with the desired number of pages):
default_hugepagesz=1G hugepagesz=1G hugepages=N
Then update the GRUB configuration and reboot the host to apply:
grub2-mkconfig -o /boot/grub2/grub.cfg && reboot
⚠️ 1G HugePages must be reserved at kernel boot time. Some cloud or virtualized environments may not support 1G HugePages — in such cases, the default 2M fallback mode is acceptable.
