nstack/datapane-python-runner repository overview

Datapane Python Runner

The Docker environment used to run scripts on Datapane.

You can inherit from this Docker image and add your own packages and libraries easily to make starting and running your scripts faster.

Installing Packages

This image is a Fedora linux64 image with Python 3.8 and datapane already installed. The container is configured to run as a non-root user.

  1. You can install new python packages by running pip install --user [pkg] ...
  2. You can install system packages by running dnf install pkg (you may need to log into the container as a root user first)
Using with Datapane
  1. Now you've created your container, tag it and push it to a public Docker repo, like Docker Hub.
  2. Next, in your datapane project directory, add the repository URI to your datapane.yaml configuration file and deploy
container_image_name: acme/my-great-container:latest
  1. If you've uploaded your image to a private repository, make sure you add a pull token/secret to your enterprise Datapane install so it can access the image(s).
