Please download the netapp-harvest_1.6.zip file from ToolChest: https://mysupport.netapp.com/tools/info/ECMLP2314554I.html?productID=61924&pcfContentID=ECMLP2314554 and save it in directory packages.
Please download netapp-manageability-sdk-9.6.zip from https://mysupport.netapp.com/products/p/nmsdk.html and save it in directory packages.
Note: This setup has been tested with NetApp Manageability SDK version 9.6, not yet with the latest version 9.7.
The Harvest image is relying on two base images which have to be accesible on the building host:
Both images are publically available on hub.docker.com.
In case of an air-gapped environment, the images can be pulled and saved from an computer with internet access by calling:
docker pull ntapfvsqr/harvest-builder:latest
docker pull ntapfvsqr/harvest-base:latest
docker save -o harvest-builder.tar ntapfvsqr/harvest-builder:latest
docker save -o harvest-base.tar ntapfvsqr/harvest-base:latest
After the tar files have been copied to the target system on which the final Harvest image is going to be build, the images can be loaded on the building host like this:
docker load --input harvest-builder.tar
docker load --input harvest-base.tar
Plase make sure, that you're in the same directory as the Dockerfile and the docker-compose.yml files.
Due to an dependency of the Harvest updater, it's necessary to have the netapp-harvest.conf.dist renamed to netapp-harvest.conf, as thios file is being copied into the Docker image. It's not necessary to have it configured correctly in the image. When running a container from the image, the conf file can be overwritten by a local mount, as described in the Run section.
If docker-compose is available, the image can be build by calling:
docker-compose build
Otherwise call:
docker build -t netapp/harvest:1.6 .
Both ways will create an image netapp/harvest:1.6.
Before running the image, the netapp-harvest.conf.dist has to be renamed to netapp-harvest.conf and the settings inside have to be adjusted accordingly.
After, there are again two ways of starting the image, either with docker-compose:
docker-compose up
or with pure Docker:
docker run -v $PWD/netapp-harvest.conf:/opt/netapp-harvest/netapp-harvest.conf netapp/harvest:1.6
