nuage/import repository overview

Nuage VSP provides a RESTful API to configure all aspects of the platform. The object hierarchy forms a tree structure, and the script recursively descends down the JSON object tree while making the corresponding API calls. In this way, the entire Nuage VSD configuration can be captured as a JSON text file. This allows for fully reproducible and versioned configurations to be stored, restored, tested in different environments, etc.

The JSON text file follows the structure of the VSD API. There is limited VSD specific logic in the script; it is the responsibility of the editor to ensure the script matches the VSD API structure. This way, older VSD versions can be configured through the same tool, and future API changes can be accommodated without changing the tool itself.

A set of sample scripts is included in the container; use 'docker run nuage/import' to get an overview of how to use the tool, and an explanation of parameter options that can be provided.
