⁠What is Obkio?

Obkio is a simple Network Performance Monitoring SaaS solution for Enterprises and MSPs that allows users to continuously monitor the health of their network and core business applications to improve the end-user experience.

Obkio’s solution consists of deploying physical or software network performance monitoring Agents at strategic locations in a company's offices or network destinations such as data sites, remote sites, external client sites, or public or private clouds. Obkio's Agents assess network performance to easily identify the causes of intermittent VoIP, video, and applications slowdown in seconds to quickly apply the corrective measures before they affect your end users.

Get access to real-time network performance metrics right from Obkio's personalized dashboard, and be alerted as soon as a problem occurs or if there are signs that a failure is about to happen.

⁠How to use this image?

This image contains an installer/updater that will keep the software up-to-date. The software will be automatically installed in /opt/obkio on every execution. Usually there is no need for a custom Dockerfile to use this image.

$ docker run --privileged -d -e AGENT_ID=<id> -e AGENT_SECRET_KEY=<secret_key> obkio/agent

⁠Incoming Connections

To accept incoming connections, you must expose the port 23999 (TCP & UDP). For more information on incoming connections, visit Obkio Help Center - Agent Connectivity Configuration⁠. In the case you have multiple containers on the same host, make sure they are configured in the same Network in the App so they can communicate using private IPs.

⁠Permanent Storage

The software is stored inside /opt/obkio. By configuring permanent storage, the start-up time will be faster if the latest software release is already installed. Also, the AGENT_SECRET_KEY environment varible is not required when using permanent storage.

⁠Environment Variables

⁠AGENT_ID

This variable is the Agent ID. required

⁠AGENT_SECRET_KEY

This variable is required only if /opt/obkio is not on permanent storage. The key can be generated only once per agent. When ready, visit https://agent-api.obkio.com/agent/install/<AGENT_ID>/key/.
