⁠pi-container

OCI container for the Pi coding agent⁠.

Alpine + Node 24 (musl) with bash git and ripgrep.

The entrypoint is pi itself, so the image takes pi's own arguments.

⁠Pull

Released images are on Docker Hub as ocramz/pi-container⁠, for linux/amd64 and linux/arm64:

docker pull ocramz/pi-container            # or a pinned tag: :0.84.2

  -v pi-config:/root/.pi \
  -e ANTHROPIC_API_KEY \
  ocramz/pi-container

The tag is the pi version — :0.84.2 ships pi 0.84.2, and latest follows the newest release. See Run⁠ for what the two volumes are for.

⁠Run

make run

That mounts the current directory at /workspace and a pi-config named volume at /root/.pi. The volume matters: pi keeps credentials, settings, and sessions under ~/.pi/agent, so without it every run starts logged out with no session history.

To run it by hand, or pass an API key instead of logging in:

podman run --rm -it \
  -v "$PWD":/workspace \
  -v pi-config:/root/.pi \
  -e ANTHROPIC_API_KEY \
  pi-container

Any pi flag works : pi-container -p "summarize README.md", pi-container --help.

On a Linux host with SELinux enforcing, add :z to the bind mount.
