DelayHTTP

DelayHTTP – tiny container to emulate HTTP response delays for load testing.

A lightweight HTTP delay emulator for testing and benchmarking. Useful for load testing scenarios, where you need to simulate response times of target services.

Features

  • Single endpoint: /hello?delay=1000 (delay in milliseconds)
  • Built as native GraalVM image (supports amd64 and arm64)
  • Extremely resource-efficient: runs with just 0.1 CPU and 32 MB RAM
  • Perfect for stress tests, latency simulation, and integration testing

Usage

Run with Docker
docker run --rm -it -p 8088:8088 -m 32m --cpus 0.1 ognivo777/delayhttp_native:latest
Example request
curl -w "\n\nTotal: %{time_total}s\n" -X GET "http://localhost:8088/hello?delay=1000"

Example output:

Delayed for 1000ms response

Total: 1.008018s

Why use DelayHTTP?

  • Quickly emulate service latency without writing custom stubs
  • Control delay per request
  • Minimal overhead → runs on tiny containers
  • Great companion tool for load and stress testing frameworks
