⁠The current official Hyrax release is Hyrax-1.17.1

Tag Semantics

latest - The latest tag is invariantly the most recent official release of the Hyrax. This does not change very often.

snapshot - The snapshot tag is always the most recent Travis continuous integration build outcome for Hyrax. It represents the current state of the master branch of the various server components. Note: It may not work as expected. If you want the latest blessed version, pick latest. X.Y.Z-# - numerical tags are the Hyrax version number followed by the Travis Build number.

⁠Quick start

Run it like this:

docker run -d -h hyrax -p 8080:8080 --name=hyrax opendap/hyrax_ncwms:latest -n http://localhost:8080

Command explanation:

• -d - Detaches the terminal from the running container (you get your terminal prompt back).
• -h hyrax - Sets the hostname for the server to hyrax.
• -p 8080:8080 - Maps your system's port 8080 to the docker hosts port 8080. Your system's port is the first one , before the colon. If you wanted to map your system port 9090 to the docker host port 8080 you would say: -p 9090:8080
• --name=hyrax - Sets the name of the docker container to hyrax.
• opendap/hyrax_ncwms:latest - The name of the docker image that will be run.
• -n http://localhost:8080 The value of this custom start parameter (which must appear AFTER the name of the docker image in the command line) should be the outward facing domain name / IP address of your Docker container. If you are running a container on your local system, then the example value of http://localhost:8080 should work well. If your Hyrax container is running elsewhere (in AWS for example) you'll have to sort out what the value should be.

NOTE: If the -n parameter is omitted from the docker image parameter list in thedocker run command then the value defaults to https://localhost:8080 (Please notice that the default value is an HTTPS transport URL)

Test the server using the URL: http://localhost:8080/opendap/⁠

Add the docker run command parameter --volume /home/mydata:/usr/share/hyrax to serve your own data in place of the test data.
