⁠opengeohub/gdal

This image is a modification of osgeo/gdal:ubuntu-full-latest⁠ that includes the compilation steps for GEOS library⁠ and uses /usr/ as prefix path for all compiled libraries. These modification were implemented to allow the compilation/installation of geospatial packages (rgdal⁠, sf⁠) in R.

Do not expect a small size image. Several developer libraries were maintained to be used by other OpenGeoHub images (opengeohub/py-geo⁠ and opengeohub/r-geo⁠).

⁠Usage

docker pull opengeohub/gdal:v3.1.4

docker run --rm -it -v /home:/home opengeohub/gdal:v3.1.4 bash
