Mount your SSH keys for remote host access:
docker run --rm \
-v $(pwd):/workspace \
-v ~/.ssh:/home/ansible/.ssh:ro \
optimode/ansible:latest \
ansible-playbook -i inventory.ini playbook.yml
Pass vault password via file:
docker run --rm \
-v $(pwd):/workspace \
-v $(pwd)/.vault-pass:/home/ansible/.vault-pass:ro \
optimode/ansible:latest \
ansible-playbook --vault-password-file=/home/ansible/.vault-pass playbook.yml
Or via environment variable:
docker run --rm \
-v $(pwd):/workspace \
-e ANSIBLE_VAULT_PASSWORD=mysecret \
optimode/ansible:latest \
ansible-playbook playbook.yml
The image includes hvac library for Vault integration. Configure via environment:
docker run --rm \
-v $(pwd):/workspace \
-e VAULT_ADDR=https://vault.example.com:8200 \
-e VAULT_TOKEN=s.xxxxxxxxxxxxxx \
optimode/ansible:latest \
ansible-playbook playbook.yml
Use dynamic inventory or custom inventory files:
docker run --rm \
-v $(pwd):/workspace \
optimode/ansible:latest \
ansible-playbook -i inventory/production.yml deploy.yml
Install collections at runtime:
docker run --rm \
-v $(pwd):/workspace \
optimode/ansible:latest \
bash -c "ansible-galaxy collection install my.collection && ansible-playbook playbook.yml"
Or build a custom image:
FROM optimode/ansible:latest
COPY my-collections.yml /tmp/
RUN ansible-galaxy collection install -r /tmp/my-collections.yml
docker run --rm \
--user $(id -u):$(id -g) \
-v $(pwd):/workspace \
optimode/ansible:latest \
ansible-playbook playbook.yml
