⁠OrbisID Community Edition Backend

OrbisID Community Edition is a self-hosted PAM Detection & Governance platform. It discovers, classifies, and reports on privileged access across 50+ system types, surfacing key risk indicators, compliance gap analysis (NIST, ISO, SOX, GxP, HIPAA, Cyber Essentials), an access graph, and owner attestation workflows.

This image is the backend API. It's designed to run alongside orbisid/orbisid-frontend-ce and a PostgreSQL database — not as a standalone container.

⁠Quick start

The supported way to run OrbisID Community Edition is via the Docker Compose stack, which brings up the backend, frontend, and database together:

curl -O https://orbisid.com/releases/latest-ce/docker-compose.yml
curl -O https://orbisid.com/releases/latest-ce/.env.example
curl -O https://orbisid.com/releases/latest-ce/nginx.conf
cp .env.example .env
# edit .env — set a database password and generate an encryption key:
openssl rand -base64 32
docker compose up -d

Then open https://localhost⁠ — default login is admin / ChangeMe123! (you'll be prompted to change it).
