⁠Run the Server

This procedure requires an License Key⁠ provided by OverOps.

1. Create a private folder and a storage folder

2. In the private folder, create the my.agentsettings.properties, my.server.properties, smtp.properties, and smtpserver.properties files. Example configuration files can be found on GitHub⁠.

3. Create a MySQL or PostgreSQL database

   To enable MySQL data connections via SSL, set the environment variable DB_SSL to --db-ssl.

4. Several environment variables must be set, including:

   HOST_URL hostname within your cluster
   FRONTEND_URL external hostname for web browsers
   DB_TYPE database type
   DB_URL database server URL
   DB_USER database username
   DB_PASS database password

5. Run the overops/server container

   docker run -d -p 8080:8080 \
   --name overops-server \
   --mount type=bind,source="$(pwd)"/private,target=/opt/private \
   --mount type=bind,source="$(pwd)"/storage,target=/opt/takipi-server/storage \
   -e HOST_URL=localhost:8080 \
   -e FRONTEND_URL=http://localhost:8080 \
   -e DB_TYPE=mysql \
   -e DB_URL=<DATABASE_URL> \
   -e DB_USER=<DATABASE_USER> \
   -e DB_PASS=<DATABASE_PASS> \
   overops/server

6. Go to http://FRONTEND_URL/ in your browser.

7. Activate OverOps⁠

⁠Rootless

Starting with version 4.56.0, all published images are now "rootless." Images are now using the base image openjdk:8-jre-slim and running with user ID 1000 and group ID 1000 instead of the root user. The rootless tag is no longer used for future releases.
