Multi-Platform Probe for PRTG

This is the docker container of the Multi-Platform Probe for Paessler PRTG. Use this container to install and configure the multi-platform probe to monitor remote systems with PRTG.

This image is maintained by Paessler GmbH.

For more information about remote probes and PRTG, see the PRTG Manual: Remote Probes and Multiple Probes.

Compatibility and requirements

Meet the following requirements to use the multi-platform probe docker container:

RequirementsDescription
PRTGYou need an active PRTG installation that runs as of PRTG 24.2.96.
Access KeyYou need an access key configured in the PRTG System Administration in Core & Probes.
NATS serverYou need a NATS server to serve as the connection point between multi-platform probes and a PRTG core server.

ℹ️ Paessler provides a Windows installer and step-by-step instructions on how to set up a NATS server in section Step 1: Install a NATS server in the Multi-Platform Probe for PRTG (PDF) manual.
Certificate authority certificateYou need the certificate authority (CA) root certificate (and any intermediate certificates) that corresponds with the TLS server certificate you used to set up your NATS server on every system that you want to monitor with a multi-platform probe.

ℹ️ For more information, see section 3 Multi-platform probe installation in the Multi-Platform Probe for PRTG (PDF) manual.

Image tags

The image is updated with every new multi-platform probe version and is named correspondingly, e.g. the v2.0.0 tag corresponds with multi-platform probe 2.0.0+12481.

The latest tag always contains the most recent and up-to-date version of the multi-platform probe image and thus the multi-platform probe.

For information on what is new in the latest version of the multi-platform probe, see the Paessler Knowledge Base: What are the release notes for the multi-platform probe?.
