⁠Implementation of Data Compression Algorithms

The goal is to encode and decode binary message bits using text file of size 1KB using different techniques and compare their results

⁠Algorithms implemented

• Simple encoding
• Huffman coding
• Extended Huffman encoding
• Arithmetic coding

⁠How to run

To run simple encoding

sudo docker run --rm -it pareshbhagat/data-compression-algorithms:simple_encoding

To run huffman encoding

sudo docker run --rm -it pareshbhagat/data-compression-algorithms:huffman_coding

To run extended huffman encoding

sudo docker run --rm -it pareshbhagat/data-compression-algorithms:extended_huffman

To run aritmetic coding

sudo docker run --rm -it pareshbhagat/data-compression-algorithms:arithmetic_coding

⁠Change content of text file

Use bind mount to change default content of text file used. Example:

sudo docker run --rm -it -v <path to your text_pattern.txt>:/app/files/text_pattern.txt pareshbhagat/data-compression-algorithms:simple_encoding
