conda create --name nest-VER -c conda-forge nest-simulator

⁠prerequisite

Install docker following the instructions available here⁠.

⁠Run

1. Start docker desktop
2. Start PowerShell (Windows) or Terminal (Linux/Mac OS) and run the following commands:

mkdir -p /home/$USER/PycharmProjects
docker pull pedrombmachado/nest:3.6
docker run --privileged -it --rm -p 3392:3389 -p 2022:22 --name nest-vm -h nest -v /home/$USER/PycharmProjects:/home/ntu-user/PycharmProjects -v $HOME/.ssh:/home/ntu-user/.ssh pedrombmachado/nest:3.6 

Wait until the container finishes to download. It will show root@<container_id> once it is ready

1. Start your favourite rdp client (e.g. Remote Desktop on Mac or Remmina on Linux) and enter localhost:3392 and select connect. Enter the user ntu-user and password ntu-user when prompted. Answer yes to all the prompted question and select cancel if you get a question about Admin permissions are requested.
