⁠Intro

Small DNS server with RESTful API management. It's written in ASP .NET Core 3.1 + Hosted Services for the DNS listener. DNS server listens on port 53.

⁠Usage

For simple in-cluster usage, simply run:

docker run -d --name custom-dns penumbra23/sharpns

After that use docker inspect custom-dns to retrieve the cluster IP address of the running DNS container. Use that IP address for setting each containers dns server:

docker run --dns CUSTOM_DNS_IP alpine:latest

Alternatively, create a custom network and give the DNS server a static IP address:

docker network create --subnet 172.10.0.0/24 my-net
docker run -d --net my-net --ip 172.10.0.10 penumbra23/sharpns
