The SLAMD Distributed Load Generation Engine (SLAMD) is a Java-based application designed for stress testing and performance analysis of network-based applications. It was originally developed for benchmarking LDAP directory servers, but it is a very extensible framework that may be easily used for other forms of communications, including HTTP, SMTP,POP, IMAP, and TFTP.
