Installation: Add to .bash_profile or something:
function orientdb {
IFS='@'; dest=$*
set -- $dest
docker run -it -w=/var/opt/orientdb -v /var/opt/orientdb:/var/opt/orientdb -v /tmp:/tmp phenixid/orientdb-tool:1.3 connect --user=$1 --url=$2
}
The shared volume /var/opt/orientdb can be used to store persistent data.
The shared volume /tmp can be used for import/export data etc.
Example usages:
orientdb writer@remote:192.168.10.133:2424/GratefulDeadConcerts
orientdb root@remote:192.168.10.133
orientdb reader@plocal:/var/opt/orientdb/databases/GratefulDeadConcerts
In order to run in plocal mode, the given database directory must be mapped into the running container, since the files are accessed directly.
Note that the database url must be relative to the container, 127.0.0.1 resolves to the container itself.
Only root accounts can connect to the server without specifying a database.
