Minimal backend for a Kubernetes take-home. Built from nginxinc/nginx-unprivileged (uid 101). Source: pixelpenguin3467/evt_assessment⁠.

⁠What it does

GET / returns plain text:

The backend is up

No application framework. It exists so the frontend can prove in-cluster DNS: an HTTP GET to the Service name http://backend/.

⁠Ports

In Kubernetes, expose as Service backend, port 80 → targetPort 8080.
