⁠Pixie Example for Pixie Dark

The pixieworks/pixie_dark_example⁠ image is a disposable local demo of the Pixie Dark Drupal theme⁠ and its Pixie Example subtheme. It includes Drupal, SQLite, sample content, and the Default Admin administration theme. The independent hosted example⁠ lets you preview the design in a browser; this image lets you inspect your own temporary Drupal installation.

The current latest image is for linux/amd64. Docker on an ARM computer, including an Apple Silicon Mac, needs amd64 emulation enabled.

⁠Pull, start, and sign in

Wait for installation to finish. Open http://localhost:8080/⁠ to view the sample site, or http://localhost:8080/user/login⁠ to sign in. The administrator username is admin; find the generated password under Pixie Example administrator credentials in the container log. The password is not fixed in the image. Keep the log private.

If port 8080 is occupied, change the host binding to 127.0.0.1:8081:80 and open localhost port 8081 instead. The default binding restricts access to your computer. Do not expose this evaluation image publicly or put production data in it.

⁠Stop, reset, and update

docker stop pixie-example

With --rm and no volume, stopping removes the container and all changes made inside it. Run the start command again for a clean demo with a new generated password. A restart of the same container instead keeps its existing data and password.

To get a newer image, stop the old disposable container, pull latest again, and run a new container. Pulling alone does not update one that is already running.
