pmietlicki/xmrig repository overview

XMRig Docker image with scheduler

This image packages XMRig 6.26.0 and adds an optional day/time scheduler. The default image is based on Alpine Linux and is published as pmietlicki/xmrig.

Quick start

Set at least your pool and wallet if you do not want to use the maintainer's defaults:

docker run -d --restart=always \
  -e POOL_URL=pool.supportxmr.com:5555 \
  -e POOL_USER=YOUR_XMR_WALLET \
  --name xmrig \
  pmietlicki/xmrig:6.26.0

pmietlicki/xmrig:latest and pmietlicki/xmrig:alpine point to the current stable release after it has been validated under its versioned tag.

Donation behavior

This image intentionally differs from the upstream XMRig binary:

  • regular mining uses POOL_USER, whose default value is the maintainer's XMR wallet;
  • XMRig's built-in donation rounds are patched at build time to use the same maintainer wallet through pool.supportxmr.com;
  • the default OPTIONS value sets --donate-level=3. Changing POOL_USER changes the regular mining wallet, but not the patched donation wallet.

The patch is stored in patches/xmrig-6.26.0-donation.patch. The image build fails if that patch or its post-patch checks no longer apply. The donation wallet is also exposed as the OCI image label io.pmietlicki.xmrig.donation-wallet.

Configuration

VariableDescriptionDefault
POOL_URLMining pool as HOST:PORTpool.supportxmr.com:5555
POOL_USERWallet/user for regular miningMaintainer XMR wallet
POOL_PWPool passwordrancher
COINXMRig coin namemonero
OPTIONSAdditional whitespace-separated XMRig arguments--donate-level=3 -k
MAX_CPUXMRig CPU maximum-thread hint, from 1 to 100 percent100
USE_SCHEDULEREnable the schedulerfalse
START_TIMEMining window start in HHMM format2100
STOP_TIMEMining window end in HHMM format0600
DAYSComma-separated English weekdays on which a window startsEvery day
TZIANA time zone used by the schedulerUTC
SCHEDULER_POLL_INTERVALScheduler check interval in seconds10

MAX_CPU is a thread-count hint, not a precise CPU utilization limit. This matches XMRig's --cpu-max-threads-hint behavior.

OPTIONS is split on whitespace without evaluating shell syntax. If an option value itself contains spaces, override the image command and invoke XMRig directly.

Scheduler

This example mines from 21:00 until 06:00 in Noumea time, starting on weekdays:

docker run -d --restart=always \
  -e POOL_USER=YOUR_XMR_WALLET \
  -e USE_SCHEDULER=true \
  -e START_TIME=2100 \
  -e STOP_TIME=0600 \
  -e DAYS=Monday,Tuesday,Wednesday,Thursday,Friday \
  -e TZ=Pacific/Noumea \
  --name xmrig \
  pmietlicki/xmrig:6.26.0

For a window that crosses midnight, DAYS identifies the day on which the window starts. If the container starts during an active window, mining starts immediately. XMRig is stopped gracefully at the end and restarted if it exits unexpectedly while the window is active.

Config file and direct invocation

The legacy config path remains available:

docker run -d \
  -v /home/user/xmrig/config.json:/home/miner/config/config.json:ro \
  pmietlicki/xmrig:6.26.0 \
  ./xmrig --config /home/miner/config/config.json

To inspect the packaged version without starting the miner:

docker run --rm pmietlicki/xmrig:6.26.0 ./xmrig --version

Build and publish

docker build -t pmietlicki/xmrig:6.26.0 .
docker run --rm pmietlicki/xmrig:6.26.0 ./xmrig --version
docker push pmietlicki/xmrig:6.26.0

After validating the versioned image, apply and push the stable aliases:

docker tag pmietlicki/xmrig:6.26.0 pmietlicki/xmrig:alpine
docker tag pmietlicki/xmrig:6.26.0 pmietlicki/xmrig:latest
docker push pmietlicki/xmrig:alpine
docker push pmietlicki/xmrig:latest
