Database containers from this repository should have stable, clear and feature-full APIs:

• datadir path
• accepted environment variables
• shell hook directories

The API of image is properly version-ed (see the first part of docker TAG) so that if you use postgresql:APIv1-centos7, you should be fine to migrate your scripting above docker to postgresql:APIv1-fedora23 and vice versa. Note, however, that CentOS Linux provides usually different version of PostgreSQL server than Fedora; so the (external) data directory is not migrated automatically.
