Generate username-password pair using htpasswd utility
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install apache2-utils
Create file named passwd. This will hold the username and password hash
touch passwd
Create user named foouser. It will then prompt you to create a password.
htpasswd passwd foouser
Start the container
sudo docker run -d -v /path/to/passwd:/etc/squid/passwd -p 8888:80 --name=squid priyankpatil/squid
If you want to override the configuration:
sudo docker run -d -v /path/to/passwd:/etc/squid/passwd -v /path/to/squid.conf:/etc/squid/squid.conf -p 8888:80 --name=squid priyankpatil/squid
