⁠What is Tamnza?

Tamnza is a quiz application in which, teachers can create quizzes and students can sign up and take quizzes related to their interests.

docker network create tamnzanet

⁠Start a mysql server instance

Starting a MySQL instance is simple:

$ docker run --name mysql -v tamnza-mysql-data:/var/lib/mysql -e MYSQL_ROOT_PASSWORD=secret -e MYSQL_DATABASE=tamnza --network tamnzanet -d mysql:5.7

⁠Start the tamnza server instance

Starting a Tamnza instance is simple:

$ docker run --name tamnza -e MYSQL_HOST=mysql -e MYSQL_USERNAME=root -e MYSQL_PASSWORD=secret -e MYSQL_DATABASE=tamnza --network tamnzane -d tamnza:latest

Example docker-compose.yml for tamnza:

    ports:
      - 80:80

      MYSQL_ROOT_HOST: mysql

Run docker-compose up, wait for it to initialize completely, and visit http://swarm-ip:80, http://localhost:80, or http://host-ip:80 (as appropriate).

⁠Container shell access, configuration of the database and viewing Tamnza logs

The docker exec command allows you to run commands inside a Docker container. The following command line will give you a bash shell inside your tamnza container:

To initialize the database, use this command.

$ docker exec -it tamnza php ./tamnza/initdb.php

The log is available through Docker's container log:

$ docker logs tamnza
