pythononwheels/redmonty repository overview

redmonty logo

redmonty, a python3 based Redis web UI.

Based on python 3.7 image and Tornado.

Run with a local (file based) db to make your connections persistent.

docker run -ti -e PYTHONPATH=/usr/local -v /home/khz/db:/usr/local/redmonty/db -p 8080:8080 --rm -d pythononwheels/redmonty

change the -v /home/khz/db to whatever path you want your connections to be saved on your computer. You will find a file named tiny.db in this folder which conains your configured connections locally on your machine. For example on MacOS this will be probably somthig starting with /Users/...

Access the application:

set your browser to http://localhost:8080

remarks

  • The DB used to store the connections is TinyDB => Superb. Try it. Sort of the NoSQL style SQLite (https://tinydb.readthedocs.io/en/latest/intro.html)
  • status is early release but it works and can be fully used. I tested it with local, remote and redislabs ..
  • Simple CLI with autocompletion and context help
  • embedded online editor for simple creating and updating keys and values. (https://ace.c9.io/)
  • I called it redmonty since I started with Redis but I am planning to add support for TinyDB and MongoDB as well. So RED(is) MON(godb) T(in)Y(db)
  • developed witt PythonOnWheels

Comments, requests anything appreciated

feel very free to try and tweet to @pythononwheels I am developing this to improve my skills. So anything that you might think be useful for you will be a good hint for me to implement ...

This is how it looks so far.. (short impression)

Thanks

to opensource ! Live is so much easier with these great tools that you develop, support and make available for free !
