qraynaud/tesla-vehicle-command repository overview

tesla-vehicle-command

This is a build of the teslamotors/vehicle-command repository as a (hopefully) convenient Docker image.

Getting started

Environment variables

Here are the useful env variables you should be aware of:

VariableDefault valueDoc
TESLA_KEY_NAMEThe name to use to derive the vehicle key from
TESLA_TOKEN_NAMEThe name to use to derive the oauth token name from
GPG_KEY_IDTesla GPG keyThe Gnu GPG key ID to use
HTTPS_PORT8443The port to bind the proxy on
Volumes to mount

Here are the interesting volumes you might want to bind in the container:

Container PathHost PathModeDoc
/config/path/to/your/configrwConfiguration folder for the app
The config folder structure
  • /config/tls: SSL certificates for the proxy server (autogenerated if not provided)
    • cert.pem: certificate used by the server
    • key.pem: associated key
  • /config/public_key.pem: public key that must be enrolled into your Tesla car to allow the proxy to properly function
    • auto-generated at first startup
  • /config/.gnupg: the GnuPG key store that contains the key to use to access the password store (see below)
    • Auto-generated if not already present
    • The key used by the proxy server should not be passphrase protected
