⁠Qualys Admission Controller

The Qualys Admission Controller is an officially maintained image created by Qualys Inc. for auditing/enforcing secure deployments in Kubernetes clusters (EKS, AKS, GKE, OpenShift, etc.). It can enforce baseline scanning requirements as well as custom policies based on vulnerability, secrets, malware, and compliance rules.

⁠Key Features

The Qualys Admission Controller is used to:

• Validate and authenticate CREATE and UPDATE requests going to the Kubernetes API server
• Enforce admission controller security policies, such as:
  • Allowing only trusted registry images
  • Blocking images with certain vulnerabilities, malware, unauthorized software and more based on configured policies
• Add a security enforcement layer before workloads are scheduled

The image supports different architectures including:

• AMD64: linux/amd64
• ARM64: linux/arm64
