raildocker/myovpn repository overview

This is an image inspired in giggio/openvpn-arm. It is built on alpine 3.17.2 and openvpn 2.5.8. The main difference is that new ciphers are supported and can be selected through the included scripts:

1. Pick a name for the $OVPN_DATA data volume container, it will be created automatically.

1. Initialize the $OVPN_DATA container that will hold the configuration files and certificates. Selecte between arm8 and arm6. Select also de cipher to use. Check the list available in openvpn documentation.

docker run -v $OVPN_DATA:/etc/openvpn --rm raildocker/myovpn:arm8 ovpn_genconfig -u udp://VPN.SERVERNAME.COM -e "cipher AES-256-GCM"

docker run -v $OVPN_DATA:/etc/openvpn --rm -it raildocker/myovpn:arm8 ovpn_initpki nopass

1. Start OpenVPN server process.

docker run -v $OVPN_DATA:/etc/openvpn -d --name openvpn -p 1194:1194/udp --cap-add=NET_ADMIN raildocker/myovpn:arm8

1. Generate a client certificate without a passphrase

docker run -v $OVPN_DATA:/etc/openvpn --rm -it raildocker/myovpn:arm8 easyrsa build-client-full CLIENTNAME nopass

1. Retrieve the client configuration with embedded certificates. Selecte the same cipher and exposed port in the docker (not need to be 1194).

docker run -v $OVPN_DATA:/etc/openvpn --rm raildocker/myovpn:arm8 ovpn_getclient -c CLIENTNAME -p PORTEXPOSED -y AES-256-GCM > CLIENTNAME.ovpn
