MCP Remote Executor

Give your AI assistant SSH access to remote servers via a single Docker command.

What it does

MCP Remote Executor is a Model Context Protocol server that lets AI coding assistants (Claude Desktop, VS Code Copilot Agent, Continue.dev) SSH into your servers and run commands using natural language.

Ask your AI:

  • Check disk usage on all production servers
  • Restart the nginx service on web01
  • Tail the last 50 lines of the app log
  • Ping all hosts in the database group

Quick Start

git clone https://github.com/rajkob/mcp-remote-executor.git
cd mcp-remote-executor
python deploy.py

Or pull the pre-built image:

python deploy.py --pull

Features

  • 22 MCP tools: SSH exec, ping, host management, credential management, file ops
  • Fernet-encrypted credential store
  • Optional API key authentication (X-MCP-Key header)
  • VPN-friendly (network_mode: host)
  • WSL2 mirrored networking auto-configured
  • Works with Claude Desktop, VS Code Copilot Agent, Continue.dev
