PrintTag Web is a self-hosted web application for working with NFC tags through your browser.
Create a docker-compose.yml file:
services:
printtag-web:
image: raphaeljaeger/printtag-web:latest
container_name: printtag-web
restart: unless-stopped
ports:
- "8443:8443"
- "8081:8080"
volumes:
- printtag-data:/data
volumes:
printtag-data:
Start the container:
docker compose up -d
Replace localhost with your server's IP address or hostname when accessing the application remotely.
The built-in HTTPS endpoint uses a self-signed certificate. Your browser may display a certificate warning.
HTTPS is required for browser features such as Web NFC, which are only available in secure contexts. Browsers generally treat localhost as a secure context, but remote access requires a trusted HTTPS setup.
The HTTP endpoint on port 8081 can be used behind a reverse proxy such as Nginx Proxy Manager.
Configure your reverse proxy to forward requests to:
8081 (if the published port is used)Enable HTTPS on the reverse proxy and configure a valid TLS certificate for your domain.
Note that browser features such as Web NFC still require the client to access the application through a secure context.
The Docker volume printtag-data is mounted at /data to preserve application data across container restarts and image updates.
Pull the latest image and recreate the container:
docker compose pull
docker compose up -d
raphaeljaeger/printtag-web:latest
