Environment The purpose of the image is to model an abitual ftp service application, it includes:

Apache 2
Proftpd 1.3.5

The main.sh script is used as a startup script to configure and run Apache and ProFTPD in the container. The following block:

 echo Setting credentials to $USERNAME:$PASSWORD
 PASSWORD=$(perl -e 'print crypt($ARGV[0], "password")' $PASSWORD)
 id -u $USERNAME &>/dev/null || useradd --shell /bin/sh --create-home --password $PASSWORD $USERNAME
 chown -R $USERNAME:$USERNAME /ftp
 exec proftpd --nodaemon

Sets the credentials for the FTP user (defined by the environment variables $USERNAME and $PASSWORD), creates the user if it doesn't exist, and then starts ProFTPD. If you wish to avoid password encryption and display in plaintext, the line 'print crypt($ARGV[0], "password")' is excluded."
