⁠📘 Overview:

This repository provides a ready-to-use SNMPv3 agent based on Ubuntu 22.04 with NET-SNMP 5.9.1 and OpenSSH Server. The container is preconfigured with multiple SNMPv3 users for testing different authentication and privacy levels. SSH is also enabled on port 2222 for easy access and debugging.

⁠🚀 How to Use

⁠🐳 Run the container:

docker run -d --name snmpv3-ssh -p 161:161/udp -p 2222:2222 rickronen/snmpv3-ssh:1.0

⁠🔐 SSH into the container:

ssh root@localhost -p 2222
# Password: rad123

⁠🔍 SNMP Walk Examples (host running Docker must have snmp installed):

1. initial — noAuthNoPriv

snmpwalk -v3 -u initial -l noAuthNoPriv 127.0.0.1 1.3.6.1.2.1.1

2. rad — authNoPriv (MD5)

snmpwalk -v3 -u rad -l authNoPriv -a MD5 -A rad123456 127.0.0.1 1.3.6.1.2.1.1

3. dar — authPriv (MD5 + AES)

snmpwalk -v3 -u dar -l authPriv -a MD5 -A rad123456 -x AES -X Rad123456 127.0.0.1 1.3.6.1.2.1.1
