With the help of this image you can run VLC media player inside docker To run VLC you need to

1. Add 2 volumes while running an image with it

Volume1:- graphics volume from base os to add it write "-v /tmp/.X11-unix/:/tmp/.X11-unix" while running a docker container.

Volume2:- Video/Audio file folder from base os to add it write "folderpath:/videos" while running a docker container.

1. sound card

To add it write "--device=/dev/snd:/dev/snd"

1. also write

"--privileged" "--ipc=host" "-e DISPLAY=$DISPLAY"

####### Final command to start a vlc inside docker is #######

$ docker run -it --name container_name -v /tmp/.X11-unix:/tmp/.X11-unix -v /root/video:/video -e DISPLAY=$DISPLAY --privileged --ipc=host --device=/dev/snd:/dev/snd rishabh131/vlc:latest
