You need to map all 3 locations:
/opt/picapport/photos/ -> Place where photos are. You can have multiple places but they need to be also mapped on the properties file
/opt/picapport/.picapport/ -> Will have the configuration file and all generated app data
/srv/cache/ -> Will contain generated thumbnails (can get big)
Example of a properties file. It needs to be named picapport.properties
server.port=80
server.contextpath=/picapport
robot.root.0.path=/opt/picapport/photos
foto.jpg.usecache=2
foto.jpg.cache.path=/srv/cache
