\n This repository provides a safe container image for the Killing Floor 2 game server. \n It is designed to be used with Docker Compose, making it easy to set up and manage your game server environment.\n

\n\n## Requirements\n\n* [Docker](https://docs.docker.com/engine/install/)\n* [Docker Compose](https://docs.docker.com/compose/install/standalone/)\n* At least 1GB RAM\n\n## Installation\n\nOnce _Docker_ and _Docker Compose_ are installed, clone this repository to your local machine:\n\n```bash\ngit clone https://github.com/RouHim/killing-floor-2-container-image.git\ncd killing-floor-2-container-image\n```\n\nBefore starting the server, create the required folder structure, and adjust the permissions:\n\n```bash\nmkdir data/ \nchmod 777 data/\n```\n\n> The `chmod` command is recommended to avoid permission issues.\n> The main reason is, that the user in the container, most likely differs from the user on the host.\n\n## Usage\n\nTo start the Killing Floor 2 server, navigate to the cloned repository's directory and use Docker Compose:\n\n```bash\ndocker-compose pull\ndocker-compose up -d\n```\n\nThis will pull the latest image and start the server in detached mode.\n\nWhen starting the server for the first time:\n\n* The config files and folders will be automatically created in the `config/` folder.\n* The server will download the latest version of the game from Steam to the `data/` folder.\n\n> You have to restart after the first start.\n\nTo restart the server after making changes to the configuration, use the following command:\n\n```bash\ndocker-compose restart\n```\n\nIn order to check the server logs, use the following command:\n\n```bash\ndocker-compose logs -f\n```\n\n## Update\n\nTo update the server, just restart the container.\nThe server checks for updates and validates on every boot per default.\n\n> To skip update and validation of the server files on every boot, set the `FAST_BOOT` env variable to `true`.\n\n## Configuration\n\nThe server configuration does not differ from the official server configuration.\nJust follow an existing server configuration guide\nlike [this](https://wiki.killingfloor2.com/index.php?title=Dedicated_Server_(Killing_Floor_2)#Game_Modes).\n\nThe `data` folder contains the game server data.\nAny modification to the server configuration should be done when the server is stopped.\nOtherwise, the changes will be most likely overwritten.\n\nConfiguration via environment variables is also possible:\n\n| Name | Description | Example | Default value |\n|----------------------------------------|-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------|----------------------------------|--------------------------|\n| `KF2_SERVER_NAME` | Server name | `My Server` | `Killing Floor 2 Server` |\n| `KF2_SERVER_SUBSCRIBED_WORKSHOP_ITEMS` | Workshop items to subscribe to | `123456789` | |\n| `KF2_WEB_ADMIN_ENABLED` | Enable web admin | `true` | `false` |\n| `KF2_ADMIN_PASSWORD` | Password for admin login and web admin login | `Password` | |\n| `KF2_DISABLE_TEAM_COLLISION` | Disable team collision | `true` | `false` |\n| `KF2_USED_FOR_TAKEOVER` | Used for takeover | `true` | `false` |\n| `KF2_BANNER_LINK` | Banner link | `https://example.com/banner.jpg` | |\n| `KF2_SERVER_MOTD` | Server message of the day | `Welcome to my server!` | |\n| `KF2_CLAN_MOTTO` | Clan motto | `My clan motto` | |\n| `KF2_NET_SERVER_MAX_TICK_RATE` | Maximum tick rate | `30` | `30` |\n| `KF2_MAX_INTERNET_CLIENT_RATE` | Maximum internet client rate | `30` | `30` |\n| `FAST_BOOT` | If set to `true`, the server will not be installed / updated / validated on start | `true` | `false` |\n\n# Resources\n\n- Built from:
