rpowered/jdk8 repository overview

This container, based on Ubuntu 14.04, contains Oracle JDK 8 plus strong encryption libraries, allowing the use of AES-256. It is the basis of our Tomcat8 container, but also useful for launching command line applications via the /opt/app and /data volumes.

eg. Launch this container from docker-compose:

  myapp:
    image: rpowered/jdk8
    container_name: myapp
    network_mode: "bridge"
    volumes:
      - /opt/myapp:/opt/app
      - /data:/data
    command:
      /opt/app/myapp.sh

  This allows your application and data to be stored on your host.
