This page documents the MCP server image:

docker pull rushdb/mcp-server

Default container mode is HTTP transport on port 3001.

⁠Quick start (HTTP transport)

docker run -d \
  --name rushdb-mcp \
  -p 3001:3001 \

Health check:

NODE_ENV is also honored.

⁠Client connection patterns

⁠1. Remote OAuth clients (ChatGPT / Claude.ai)

Run HTTP mode and expose /mcp publicly behind HTTPS. Clients authenticate via OAuth and pass bearer tokens per request.

⁠2. API key compatibility mode

Provide RUSHDB_API_KEY in container env and connect compatible MCP clients to your /mcp endpoint.

⁠3. Local stdio clients

For Claude Desktop / Cursor local configs, npx @rushdb/mcp-server is usually simpler than Docker.

⁠Available tools

  • Record lifecycle: create, get, update, delete, bulk create/delete
  • Search: find records, relationships, labels, properties
  • AI features: semantic search, embedding index operations, ontology
  • Utilities: export records, client setup help, query-builder prompt

  • POST /mcp — MCP Streamable HTTP endpoint
