MeshCheck peer-node agent: run a node to contribute reachability checks. amd64 + arm64.
540
s4l3h1/meshcheck:agent is the MeshCheck peer-node agent — the container you
run to turn a Linux host into a MeshCheck node. A node connects to a MeshCheck
platform over an outbound WebSocket and runs reachability checks (traceroute,
DNS, TLS, HTTP, …) on demand, contributing its vantage point to the network.
This is the only MeshCheck image published to a registry; the platform API ships separately.
| Tag | Description |
|---|---|
agent | Current agent release (rolling) |
agent-<version> | Pinned, immutable release (e.g. agent-0.2.0) |
Each tag is a multi-arch manifest list — docker pull selects your architecture
automatically:
linux/amd64linux/arm64On your MeshCheck dashboard, open Install a node to mint an API key, then:
docker run -d --name meshcheck-agent --restart unless-stopped \
-e MESHCHECK_AGENT_API_KEY=mck_... \
-e MESHCHECK_AGENT_GATEWAY_URL=wss://<your-host>/agent \
-e MESHCHECK_AGENT_CONNECTION_CLASS=vps \
-e MESHCHECK_AGENT_KEY_FILE=/data/agent.key \
-v meshcheck-agent:/data \
s4l3h1/meshcheck:agent
The install page generates this command with your key and gateway URL already filled in.
Configure the agent with environment variables (or a JSON config at
/etc/meshcheck/agent.json):
| Variable | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|
MESHCHECK_AGENT_API_KEY | yes | Node API key (mck_…), minted on the dashboard |
MESHCHECK_AGENT_GATEWAY_URL | yes | Platform WebSocket endpoint, wss://<host>/agent |
MESHCHECK_AGENT_KEY_FILE | – | Signing-key path; point it at the volume (/data/agent.key) to persist node identity |
MESHCHECK_AGENT_CONNECTION_CLASS | – | vps | residential_wired | … |
MESHCHECK_AGENT_CITY / MESHCHECK_AGENT_COUNTRY | – | Self-declared location (country is ISO 3166-1 alpha-2) |
MESHCHECK_AGENT_NAME | – | Friendly node name |
MESHCHECK_AGENT_LOG_LEVEL | – | debug | info | warn | error |
MESHCHECK_AGENT_MAX_CONCURRENT_TASKS | – | Agent-side task ceiling |
MESHCHECK_AGENT_AUTO_UPDATE | – | Off by default; containers update by pulling a new image |
The -v meshcheck-agent:/data volume persists the node's signing key — its
stable identity across restarts.
