No host configuration \nis required on your part — just deploy and connect.\n\n\nDon't forget your launch files!\n\nSince you are rebuilding this image, you will need the supervisord.conf and entrypoint.sh files in the same directory as your Dockerfile for the image to boot successfully. Here is the exact code for those so you can copy/paste them:\n\n1. supervisord.conf\nThis controls all your background services and ensures they restart if they crash.\n\n[supervisord]\nnodaemon=true\nuser=root\n\n[program:sshd]\ncommand=/usr/sbin/sshd -D\nautostart=true\nautorestart=true\n\n[program:vnc]\ncommand=su - fritz -c \"vncserver :0 -geometry %(ENV_RESOLUTION)s -depth 24 -localhost no -SecurityTypes None\"\nautostart=true\nautorestart=true\n\n[program:novnc]\ncommand=su - fritz -c \"websockify --web=/usr/share/novnc/ 6080 localhost:5900\"\nautostart=true\nautorestart=true\n\n[program:pulseaudio]\ncommand=su - fritz -c \"pulseaudio --start --exit-idle-time=-1\"\nautostart=true\nautorestart=true\n\n[program:audio-share]\ncommand=su - fritz -c \"audio-share-server\"\nautostart=true\nautorestart=true\n\n2. entrypoint.sh\nThis initializes the environment, sets up SSH keys, and hands off control to Supervisor.\n\n#!/bin/bash\nset -e\n\n# Setup SSH directory for root\nmkdir -p /var/run/sshd\n\n# Ensure fritz owns their home directory\nchown -R fritz:fritz /home/fritz\n\n# Start Supervisor to manage all background services\nexec /usr/bin/supervisord -c /etc/supervisor/conf.d/supervisord.conf\n\nMake sure to run chmod +x entrypoint.sh on your local machine before building the Docker image so it is executable! \n\n\n---\n\n## Connecting From Your Local Machine\n\nYou do not need to install any special software to use this container.\nEverything runs through your web browser. The sections below explain\nhow to get the best experience on both Windows and Linux.\n\n---\n\n### The Quick Version (Works on Any OS)\n\n1. Deploy your pod and wait for it to show **Running**\n2. In your pod's **Connect** menu, find the URL for port **6080**\n3. Click it — your desktop appears instantly in the browser\n4. That's it. Nothing to install.\n\n> **Recommended browsers:** Chrome or Edge give the best performance.\n> Firefox works but may feel slightly slower for screen updates.\n\n---\n\n### Connecting on Windows\n\n#### Desktop (Browser — Recommended)\n\nNo installation required. Just open Chrome or Edge and go to the\nNoVNC URL shown in your pod's Connect menu for port **6080**.\n\n```\nExample: https://abc123.proxy.runpod.net/6080\n```\n\nYou will see the full Linux desktop in your browser tab. You can\nresize the window and the desktop will adjust automatically.\n\n**Tips for Windows users:**\n- Use **F8** inside the NoVNC window to open the settings menu\n (fullscreen toggle, clipboard, etc.)\n- To go **fullscreen**, press **F8 → Fullscreen**\n- To send **Ctrl+Alt+Del** (which Windows would intercept), use the\n NoVNC menu instead of your keyboard\n\n#### Copy & Paste Between Your PC and the Remote Desktop\n\nNoVNC uses an intermediate clipboard because browsers restrict\ndirect clipboard access for security reasons. [web:167][web:169]\n\n- **To paste text INTO the remote desktop:**\n Press **F8** to open the NoVNC menu → click **Clipboard** →\n paste your text into the box → it will appear in the remote\n desktop's clipboard, ready to paste with **Ctrl+V**\n\n- **To copy text FROM the remote desktop:**\n Copy text normally inside the desktop (Ctrl+C), then press **F8**\n → **Clipboard** to see it, and copy it back to your local PC\n\n> **Chrome users:** Chrome may ask for clipboard permission the\n> first time. Click **Allow** when prompted.\n\n#### Sound on Windows\n\nSound streams directly through your browser via the audio bridge\nrunning on port **8081**.\n\n1. Find the URL for port **8081** in your pod's Connect menu\n2. Open it in a **separate browser tab** (keep it open in background)\n3. Click **Play** if prompted\n4. Audio from the remote desktop will now play through your\n Windows speakers or headphones\n\n> Make sure your browser tab for port 8081 is **not muted**.\n> Check the speaker icon on the browser tab itself — Chrome\n> sometimes auto-mutes new tabs.\n\n#### SSH on Windows (Optional — for advanced use)\n\nSSH lets you type commands directly into the container without\nusing the desktop. It's useful for running Python scripts,\nmanaging files, or using Conda.\n\n1. Download and install **PuTTY** (free):\n https://www.putty.org\n2. Open PuTTY\n3. In **Host Name**, enter the hostname shown in your pod's\n Connect menu\n4. In **Port**, enter the external port mapped to **22**\n (shown in your Connect menu — it will NOT be 22 itself)\n5. Click **Open**\n6. Login as: `fritz`\n7. Password: `qwerty` (change this after first login!)\n\nAlternatively, if you have Windows 10/11 with the built-in\nOpenSSH client, open **PowerShell** and type:\n```powershell\nssh fritz@ -p \n```\n\n---\n\n### Connecting on Linux\n\n#### Desktop (Browser — Recommended)\n\nSame as Windows — open Chrome or Firefox and navigate to the\nNoVNC URL for port **6080** from your pod's Connect menu.\n\n#### Copy & Paste on Linux\n\nWorks the same way as Windows via the F8 NoVNC clipboard menu.\n[web:167][web:169]\n\nLinux bonus: if you use **middle-click paste** (the Linux\nclipboard), this will work naturally inside the remote desktop\nwithout needing the F8 menu.\n\n#### Sound on Linux\n\nSame as Windows — open the URL for port **8081** in a separate\nbrowser tab and press Play. Audio will stream through your\nlocal speakers.\n\nIf you prefer a native audio stream instead of browser-based,\nyou can pipe it through PulseAudio directly. Open a terminal\non your local Linux machine and run:\n\n```bash\n# Stream audio natively (optional, advanced users only)\npacat --server=tcp:: \\\n --playback --rate=44100 --channels=2 --format=s16le\n```\n\n#### SSH on Linux\n\nOpen any terminal and run:\n```bash\nssh fritz@ -p \n# Password: qwerty\n```\n\nWhere `` and `` come from your pod's\nConnect menu (the port mapped to internal port 22).\n\nTo avoid typing the password every time, copy your SSH key:\n```bash\nssh-copy-id -p fritz@\n```\n\n---\n\n### Port Reference (Quick Cheat Sheet)\n\n| What you want to do | Port | How to access |\n|----------------------------------|-------|--------------------------------|\n| See the desktop | 6080 | Browser (NoVNC) |\n| Hear audio | 8081 | Browser tab (keep open) |\n| Run terminal commands | 22 | SSH (PuTTY on Windows/terminal)|\n| Use ComfyUI (AI image tool) | 8188 | Browser |\n| Use Gradio / Stable Diffusion UI | 7860 | Browser |\n| Use Jupyter Notebook | 8888 | Browser |\n| Direct VNC (advanced) | 5900 | VNC client app |\n\nAll URLs and port numbers are found in your pod's\n**Connect** menu after it starts. You do not need to remember\nany IP addresses — the platform generates the URLs for you.\n\n---\n\n### Troubleshooting Common Issues\n\n**The desktop looks blurry or pixelated**\nOpen the NoVNC menu (F8) → set **Scaling Mode** to\n**Remote Resizing**. This tells the remote desktop to match\nyour browser window size exactly.\n\n**I can hear no sound**\nMake sure the browser tab for port 8081 is open and not muted.\nCheck the small speaker icon on that tab in your browser.\n\n**Copy/paste is not working**\nUse the F8 clipboard method described above. Direct\nclipboard access between your PC and the remote desktop\nrequires going through the NoVNC clipboard panel. [web:167]\n\n**The browser asks me to allow clipboard access**\nClick **Allow**. This is Chrome asking for permission to\nsync the clipboard — it is safe to allow for this use case.\n\n**SSH says \"connection refused\"**\nMake sure you are using the *external* port shown in your\nConnect menu, not port 22 directly. Cloud platforms remap\nSSH to a high-numbered port for security.\n\n","has_starred","hub_user","immutable_tags_settings",{"_79":11,"_80":81},"enabled","rules",[82],".*","is_automated","permissions",{"_86":21,"_87":11,"_88":11},"read","write","admin","user","storage_size",8671677597,"orgData","recentTags",[95],{"_96":49,"_97":98,"_99":100,"_101":102,"_103":104,"_105":106,"_55":122,"_123":98,"_124":33,"_125":61,"_43":126,"_127":128,"_129":113,"_130":122,"_131":70,"_132":21},"content_type","creator",34882891,"digest","sha256:0bdb5af67594dfabf546b60d3fc69e514d563ff6a2b787f9f195738ae7749ec8","full_size",4758724662,"id",1080963334,"images",[107],{"_108":109,"_99":100,"_110":111,"_112":113,"_114":115,"_116":117,"_118":111,"_119":-5,"_120":102,"_67":70,"_121":-5},"architecture","amd64","features","","last_pulled","2026-09-26T10:10:25.032743604Z","last_pushed","2026-02-21T06:13:32.624010665Z","os","linux","os_features","os_version","size","variant","2026-02-21T06:13:33.003133Z","last_updater","last_updater_username","media_type","latest","repository",30167261,"tag_last_pulled","tag_last_pushed","tag_status","v2","sbxKitMetadata","isPotentialSpam","isHubSbxKitsEnabled","showSbxLogoOverride","sbxTrademarkText","displaySecurityMetadata","tagAttestations","tagsHaveAttestations",[],"selectedTag","attestationsUrl","routes/_layout.r.$namespace.$reponame.tags",{"_38":146,"_154":155,"_140":164,"_165":11},{"_40":147,"_47":149,"_50":51,"_52":53,"_54":11,"_55":56,"_57":58,"_59":150,"_43":35,"_32":33,"_62":63,"_64":49,"_65":66,"_67":68,"_69":70,"_71":-5,"_72":66,"_73":74,"_75":11,"_76":33,"_77":151,"_83":11,"_84":153,"_89":33,"_90":91},[148],{"_43":44,"_45":46},[49],[61],{"_79":11,"_80":152},[82],{"_86":21,"_87":11,"_88":11},"tags",{"_156":68,"_157":-5,"_158":-5,"_159":160},"count","next","previous","results",[161],{"_96":49,"_97":98,"_99":100,"_101":102,"_103":104,"_105":162,"_55":122,"_123":98,"_124":33,"_125":61,"_43":126,"_127":128,"_129":113,"_130":122,"_131":70,"_132":21},[163],{"_108":109,"_99":100,"_110":111,"_112":113,"_114":115,"_116":117,"_118":111,"_119":-5,"_120":102,"_67":70,"_121":-5},[],"canDeleteTags","actionData","errors"]
