schrodingersket/agent-container repository overview

This image is to be used as a base image for devcontainers; it contains the Pi agent harness installed via nvm, uv for Python package management, along with Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, and OpenCode just for variety.

Wrapping these agent harnesses in a devcontainer image allows modern IDEs to coexist with agents that have free run of their little sandbox, containerization offers reasonably decent sandboxing support. Of course, you're best off running this container inside a VM just to add some extra agent isolation, but who am I to tell you about good security practices? I'm just a random person on the internet who REALLY wants their agents to be properly sandboxed.

Check out https://github.com/schrodingersket/agent-container/blob/7032d3fb44e9a167a4a94f1b68ace017f034a5e0/.devcontainer/devcontainer.json for an example configuration; loading that devcontainer in your IDE after copying https://github.com/schrodingersket/agent-container/blob/7032d3fb44e9a167a4a94f1b68ace017f034a5e0/compose.devcontainer.yml to your repository root will allow the installed agents to modify your project in a nice, self-contained way. You should also check out https://github.com/schrodingersket/agent-container/blob/7032d3fb44e9a167a4a94f1b68ace017f034a5e0/Dockerfile to see how this image is built (and to make sure there's nothing nefarious in there).
