⁠Installation

You can pull the pre-built Docker image from Docker Hub using the following command:

docker pull sdflysha/choco

⁠Usage

Once you have pulled the image, you can run a container using the following command:

docker run -it sdflysha/choco

This command starts a container and opens an interactive terminal session (-it), where you can begin using the Chocolatey package manager immediately to install software packages.

⁠Example: Installing a Package

To install a package, for example git, simply run the following command inside the container:

choco install git -y

⁠Building from Source

If you prefer to build the image yourself, you can clone the repository and build the image using the provided Dockerfile.

1. Clone the repository:

   git clone https://github.com/sdcb/dockerfiles.git
   

   Copy

2. Navigate to the directory containing the Dockerfile:

   cd dockerfiles/src/choco
   

   Copy

3. Build the image:

   docker build -t your-custom-tag .
   

   Copy

⁠Dockerfile Explained

The Dockerfile used in this image performs the following steps:

• Base Image: Starts with Microsoft's official Windows Server Core image (mcr.microsoft.com/windows/servercore:ltsc2022).
• Chocolatey Installation: Executes a PowerShell script that adjusts security protocols and downloads the Chocolatey installation script directly from the official site and executes it. It also adds the Chocolatey binary path to the system PATH.
