sepia/home repository overview

SEPIA-Home

S.E.P.I.A. is a Self-hosted, Extendable, Personal, Intelligent Assistant. For more info please visit: https://sepia-framework.github.io
This repository contains images for SEPIA-Home the all-you-need bundle to get your own, open-source, DIY, virtual, voice assistant running.

More SEPIA Docker content is available at: SEPIA Docker HUB

sepia/home:latest

NOTE: To run SEPIA-Home without Docker (only Java) check out this installation guide.

NEW:

  • All platforms: sudo docker pull sepia/home:latest

OLD - Choose the right image and version, e.g.:

  • Amd64 (x86_64): sudo docker pull sepia/home:v2.6.0_amd64
  • Arm32 (armv7l): sudo docker pull sepia/home:v2.6.0_armv7l
  • Aarch64 (Arm64): sudo docker pull sepia/home:v2.6.0_aarch64

Please read the more detailed guide at: https://github.com/SEPIA-Framework/sepia-docs/wiki/SEPIA-inside-virtual-environments
There you will find update instructions for older containers as well.

Set up host machine for Elasticsearch

Run this on your HOST (the machine that starts the Docker container): sudo sysctl -w vm.max_map_count=262144
Info: https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/5.3/vm-max-map-count.html (the container will inherit this from the host)

Set up SEPIA

Before you can run the server you need to set up the database and core-accounts. In newer containers (v2.6.2+) this is done automatically at first start and the user data will be stored in a single shared folder (internal folder '$HOME/sepia-home-data'). Docker will copy some data to your shared folder at first start if it is set up properly, e.g.:

  • Create an EMPTY shared folder: SEPIA_SHARE=/home/[my-user]/sepia-home-data && mkdir -p $SEPIA_SHARE
  • Make a Docker volume out of it: sudo docker volume create --opt type=none --opt device=$SEPIA_SHARE --opt o=bind sepia-home-data
  • Start the container: sudo docker run --rm -it --name=sepia_home -p 20726:20726 -v sepia-home-data:/home/admin/sepia-home-data sepia/home:latest
  • After the first start and a successful setup check the folder $SEPIA_SHARE/setup/automatic-setup for the file results.log. There you will find the randomly generated passwords for admin, assistant and first user. Delete the file after you have memorized the passwords ;-)

If you want to make individual changes or run the setup manually you can start the container with terminal access:

  • sudo docker run --rm --name=sepia_home -it -p 20726:20726 -v sepia-home-data:/home/admin/sepia-home-data sepia/home:latest /bin/bash

If you want to run the automatic-setup once again with a modified config.yaml you need to create an (empty) file called docker-setup inside your shared folder $SEPIA_SHARE/setup/automatic-setup. NOTE: If you start the container again this will completely RESET your database!

Additional settings

Please visit the SEPIA docs page about virtual environments to get more detailed info and learn more about persistent Nginx + SSL setups etc..

Connect

If you've used the default port (20726) during 'docker run' you should find your server at:

SEPIA Client: http://localhost:20726/sepia/assist/app/index.html
Control-HUB: http://localhost:20726/sepia/assist/tools/index.html

(replace 'localhost' with IP if not on same machine).

Enter this in the 'hostname' field on login: http://localhost:20726/sepia

To proceed please follow the quick start guide from the point "You should be able to reach the web-app ...".
