Announce the presence of DVB-NIP Gateways on the Local Network

Applicable in DVB-NIP and DVB-HB context

⁠Example

The following example announce a DVB-NIP GW on the local network with a DVB-I Service List Entry Points that can be discovered by DVB-I clients implementing the DVB-NIP discovery protocol.

        --instance-name=my-gw \

⁠Announcing on the Local Network

To announce a DVB-NIP Gateways on a local network, ensure that the image runs with the following flag:

--network host

DVB NIP mDNS

Usage: dvb-nip-mdns [OPTIONS] --ip <IP>

Options:
      --hostname <HOSTNAME>
          Local hostname.
          It is used as the “name” in the address records (i.e. TYPE_A and TYPE_AAAA records)
          Hostname must end with ".local."
          
          [default: dvb-nip-gw.local.]

      --port <PORT>
          Port of the mDNS service
          
          [default: 8888]

      --instance-name <INSTANCE_NAME>
          Name of the DVB-NIP Gateway instance
          
          [default: DVB-NIP-GW]

      --ip <IP>
          One or more IP addresses
          
          Example:
          
          - Single IPv4: "192.168.0.1"
          - Single IPv6: "2001:0db8::7334"
          - Multiple IPv4 separated by comma: "192.168.0.1,192.168.0.2"
          - Multiple IPv6 separated by comma: "2001:0db8::7334,2001:0db8::7335"
          - A slice of IPv4: &["192.168.0.1", "192.168.0.2"]
          - A slice of IPv6: &["2001:0db8::7334", "2001:0db8::7335"]
          - A mix of IPv4 and IPv6: "192.168.0.1,2001:0db8::7334"

      --ip-auto <IP_AUTO>
          Automatically update the addresses of this service, when IPv4 address(es) are added or removed on the host.
          Possible value : true, false
          
          [default: false]

      --dvbi-sep <DVBI_SEP>
          URL of a DVB-I Service List Entry points exposed by the DVB-NIP Gateway
          Either dvbi-sep or dvbi-sl is mandatory

      --dvbi-sl <DVBI_SL>
          URL of a DVB-I Service List exposed by the DVB-NIP Gateway
          Either dvbi-sep or dvbi-sl is mandatory

      --priv-loc <PRIV_LOC>
          Optional URL of private signalling data for DVB Gateways not implementing DVB-I functionality

      --cprot-ep <CPROT_EP>
          Optional URL pointing to content protection server

      --manuf <MANUF>
          Optional manufacturer's name

      --model <MODEL>
          Model name of the device

      --sn <SN>
          Serial number of the device

      --tuners <TUNERS>
          Optional List of pairs of supported modulation types and respective numbers of tuners.          
          Multiple pairs are separated by " ". Modulation type and number of tuners of that kind are separated by "/".
          Possible values of modulation type are: "DVB-T", "DVB-T2"; ", "DVB-S”,", "DVB-S2", "DVB-S2X" "DVB-C".
          
          Example: tuners="DVB-T2/4 DVB-S2/2"

      --orb-pos-a <ORB_POS_A>
          Optional first received orbital position, expressed in positive or negative degrees representing East and West directions respectively.
          Relevant only if the DVB Gateway also includes satellite tuners.

      --orb-pos-b <ORB_POS_B>
          Optional second received orbital position, expressed in positive or negative degrees representing East and West directions respectively.
          Relevant only if the DVB Gateway also includes satellite tuners.

      --orb-pos-c <ORB_POS_C>
          Optional third received orbital position, expressed in positive or negative degrees representing East and West directions respectively.
          Relevant only if the DVB Gateway also includes satellite tuners.

      --orb-pos-d <ORB_POS_D>
          Optional fourth received orbital position, expressed in positive or negative degrees representing East and West directions respectively.
          Relevant only if the DVB Gateway also includes satellite tuners.

  -h, --help
          Print help (see a summary with '-h')

  -V, --version
          Print version

⁠Enable logs

The environment variable RUST_LOG can be used to activate/deactivate logs.

docker run --env RUST_LOG=debug --network host sessystems/dvb-nip-mdns
