What is this project about?

You can use this Docker Container for running the AION kernel in order to mine AION coins on the mainnet. For more information about AION visit https://aion.network/ and the developer forum at https://forum.aion.network You find the Dockerfile and docker-Compose.yml for this project at https://github.com/sh39sxn/mining-aion-coins/blob/master/aion-kernel.Dockerfile On my website https://allaboutaws.com/how-to-mine-aion-coins-using-docker you find more information about this repo.

How to use this image

You can use environment variables to adjust the kernel. Currently the following variables are supported:

AION_MINING_ADDRESS

This variable specifies the mining address. The default setting is "0xa002b257cdc41ec76cbc9e30e1f1d93d0fe702201a45ab588ccabaadd5606e22" as the kernel only starts correctly with a valid mining address.

AION_NETWORK

This variable specifies the aion network you want run the kernel in. The default setting is "mainnet" which is the network on which you can mine Aion coins. Allowed values: mainnet, conquest, mastery

You can run the kernel (with tag: latest) with modified environment variables for Aion mining address and Aion network by executing:

docker run -e AION_MINING_ADDRESS=0xa002b257cdc41ec76cbc9e30e1f1d93d0fe702201a45ab588ccabaadd5606e22 -e AION_NETWORK=mainnet --rm --name kernel sh39sxn/aion-kernel:latest

To run the container in background just add the argument "-d". Removing the parameter "--rm" does not delete the container after stoping it which is useful if you don't want to download the current blockchain each time you start the container.
