⁠What this is

This is a personal build of OpenJarvis⁠, an open-source local-first personal AI framework from Stanford's Hazy Research / Scaling Intelligence Lab (part of the "Intelligence Per Watt" research initiative).

Built directly from the upstream source (deploy/docker/Dockerfile, unmodified) because the upstream project does not publish a pre-built image — their own reference docker-compose.yml also builds from source. This image exists purely to save that build time on resource-constrained hosts (e.g. small homelab servers).

⁠Usage

Requires an Ollama backend and an API key (the server refuses to bind to a non-loopback address without one). See upstream's Docker deployment guide⁠ for the full picture — this image is a drop-in replacement for building deploy/docker/Dockerfile yourself.

Generate an API key with jarvis auth generate-key (see upstream docs), or any strong random string — clients must send Authorization: Bearer <key>.

⁠Build details

• Base image: python:3.12.13-slim-bookworm (runtime), node:22.23.0-slim + same Python base (build stages)
• Multi-stage build: Node.js frontend (Vite/TypeScript) → Rust extension (PyO3 bindings via maturin) → Python package, assembled into a slim runtime
• Runs as non-root (UID 10001, user openjarvis)
• Platform: linux/amd64
• No secrets, tokens, or credentials of any kind are baked into this image — built from public source with no build-args beyond the upstream defaults.
