3.8K
Demo environment for Waterstream MQTT broker which includes ZK, Kafka, Waterstream itself and MQTT Board.
Requires Waterstream license - you can ask for it here: https://waterstream.io/try-waterstream/.
Assuming that waterstream.license is in the current directory, you can run the devbox with this script:
CONTAINER_NAME=waterstream-kafka-devbox
echo Starting $CONTAINER_NAME
#For x86 platform:
IMAGE_NAME=simplematter/waterstream-kafka-devbox:latest
#For ARM platform:
#IMAGE_NAME=simplematter/waterstream-kafka-devbox-arm64v8:latest
ZK_PORT=2181
KAFKA_PORT=9092
MQTT_PORT=1883
MQTT_WS_PORT=9001
MONITORING_PORT=1884
HTTP_PORT=8080
#interactive
INTERACTIVE=-it
#non-interactive
#INTERACTIVITY=-d
#No cleanup
#CLEANUP=""
#Remove container automatically when completed
CLEANUP="--rm"
LICENSE_FILE=`pwd`/waterstream.license
docker run $INTERACTIVITY $CLEANUP \
-e MQTT_WS_PORT=$MQTT_WS_PORT \
-v $LICENSE_FILE:/etc/waterstream.license:ro \
-p $HTTP_PORT:8080 \
-p $MONITORING_PORT:1884 \
-p $MQTT_PORT:1883 \
-p $MQTT_WS_PORT:$MQTT_WS_PORT \
-p $KAFKA_PORT:9092 \
-p $ZK_PORT:2181 \
--name $CONTAINER_NAME $IMAGE_NAME
When the Devbox has started, you can open http://localhost:8080 to see its index page or to directly to http://localhost:8080/mqttboard/ to see the MQTT Board. There you can click "Create client", leave the default parameter, and get the UI for trying out the Waterstream.
If you want to keep the data between the container restarts - add a volume
for the default Kafka log directory /tmp/kafka-logs:
docker ... -v /somewhere/on/your/computer:/tmp/kafka-logs ...
Devbox can be configured with the same environment variables as the regular Waterstream - see https://docs.waterstream.io/release/configGuide.html for the complete reference.
