This is a version of the Apache + PHP 7.0 image from the SiteHost Cloud Container platform that you can use for local development.
We recommend reading our Getting Started guide for more information on how to use this image.
Cloud Containers usually follow a standardised directory structure, and have a set of ports that are exposed to access the services running within them.
Since this is a web container, you can serve your website files by mounting them into the container. Our containers are configured to serve files from the /container/application directory.
docker run -d -it -p 8000:80 -v ./application:/container/application docker.io/sitehost/sitehost-php7-apache:3.0.5-focal
This will serve your application on port 8000, you can choose whatever port you'd like.
To interact with your container, you can expose the ports that your container's services are listening on.
For this image, you can add the following to your Docker compose file to expose the ports:
ports:
- 80:80/tcp
Usually your Cloud Container image will depend on files mounted on the Cloud Container server, we've included all of these essential files in the image for ease of use.
For this image, you can add one or all of the following volumes to your Docker compose file:
volumes:
- ./config:/container/config
- ./logs:/container/logs
- ./crontabs:/cron
- ./application:/container/application
- ./system:/container/system
Depending on which volume you choose, you will want to copy the contents out of the container, onto your local machine. This will ensure you have any files that are required for your application to run.
docker cp {container_name}:/container/config ./config
