⁠Boot.dev Development Environment

A standardized, ready-to-go CLI environment pre-loaded with everything you need for backend development and the Boot.dev curriculum.

⁠Included Base Tools

• Git: Full version control support
• GitHub CLI (gh): Authenticate and manage your repositories
• Boot.dev CLI (bootdev): Complete backend lessons and sync progress

⁠Available Tags

• latest / base: Minimal Debian-based environment
• node: Includes Node.js (LTS) and PostgreSQL

⁠Quick Start

docker run -it -v $(pwd):/home/user/src souloutz/bootdotdev:latest

⁠Persistence

docker run -it --name boot-dev \
  -v ~/.config/gh:/home/user/.config/gh \
  -v ~/.config/bootdev:/home/user/.config/bootdev \
  -v pgdata_volume:/home/user/postgres/data \
  -v $(pwd):/home/user/src \
  souloutz/bootdotdev:node

⁠Note

Most likely won't be perfect! Just another Boot.dev user looking to improve my containerization and sysadmin skills, and hopefully sharing my workflow will help others too :P
