stephenrjones/geoq repository overview

Implementation of the GeoQ Server (https://github.com/ngageoint/geoq) using Django 3.0 as well as Python 3. This repository includes the Django Server and accompanying libraries, but not the PostgreSQL database. I'm currently using the mdillon/postgis image for the database.

The following docker-compose.yml file should start the devel system by running 'docker-compose up':

version: '3'

services:
  db:
    image: mdillon/postgis
    environment:
      POSTGRES_PASSWORD: geoq
      POSTGRES_USER: geoq
      POSTGRES_DB: geoq

  web:
    image: stephenrjones/geoq:3.0-devel
    environment:
       ALLOWED_HOST: 'servername'
    ports:
      - "8000:8000"
    command: sh -c 'python app.py'
    depends_on:
      - db

The system will start on the port you specify, in this case port 8000. The default account is 'admin' with a password 'adminadmin'.

To run the production system, the docker-compose.yml file is very similar:

version: '3'

services:
  db:
    image: mdillon/postgis
    environment:
      POSTGRES_PASSWORD: geoq
      POSTGRES_USER: geoq
      POSTGRES_DB: geoq

  web:
    image: stephenrjones/geoq:3.0-production
    environment:
       ALLOWED_HOST: 'servername'
    ports:
      - "8000:80"
    depends_on:
      - db

A big difference is that the container runs the interface on port 80, so the host port mapping should be configured from there.

Running 'docker-compose up' initializes the database, resetting any data in the local images. To retain this information, you should use 'docker-compose start' and 'docker-compose stop'
